Ripple Effect

Water.

It's one of the "four tires" of our physical health:

Nutrition. Hydration. Activity. Sleep.

Our human bodies are half to three-fourths water.

Continuous hydration of actual water is vital for equilibrium, metabolism, function and life. (The body isn't fooled by liquid substitutes.)

Water.

Just under three-fourths of the surface of Earth is water-covered.

Oceans hold over 96% of that water.

Less than 3 - 4% of the Earth's water is freshwater (the type life requires for survival), but it's frozen in glaciers and ice caps.

The 1% or less available and usable to us is a renewing mystery.

Thanks to the water cycle, water supply is constantly moving from one form to another to sustain life.

Water.

A woman, ashamed of her reputation, yet thirsty and in need, visits a well in the heat of the day so she won't be seen. But Jesus meets her there and speaks.

"Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give will never thirst. But the water that I shall give will become a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." John 4:14

She asks. "Give me this water, that I may not thirst..."

He answers, and suddenly He is speaking of worship.

"...the Father is seeking (true worshipers) to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." John 4:23

And hishtachavah (Hebrew for worship) has great depth:

an inner attitude of fear and respect that finds outlet in physical expression, including bowing, bending and humility, and involving sacrifice.

Praise and physical expression without sacrifice...are shallow.

Sacrifice alone without praise and physical expression...is dry.

How can we fully take part in this deep-and-wide,

to be reborn and renewed in this water?

Water and Worship. Worship and Water.

Vital. Essential. Of utmost importance.

It's inside of us...Inside of Us!

We are created of it and we are created for it.

To know and acknowledge our Source,

in Spirit and in Truth,

is to understand this renewing mystery,

this daily water-cycle,

this daily worship-cycle

which will sustain us

and become in us

a fountain springing up into everlasting life.

"For as the rain comes down, and the snows from heaven,

And do not return there, but water the earth,

And make it bring forth and bud,

That it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,

So shall My Word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void.

But it shall accomplish what I please.

And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it,"

speaks the Lord. Isaiah 55:10

We can come empty and be filled.

We can become part of this cycle.

We are made for this.

The ripple effect.

Let it flow...deeper still.
